While the last month has been mostly too windy to Kitesurf in Cornwall, out here in Cape Town it has been unusually quiet on the wind front meaning we have had to hunt for other wind or wait for the SE Cape Doctor to come in late in Table View. Still we have had some amazing sessions, check out this write up by myself and Danny Morrice along with some awesome pics from a NW day at Witsands on Kiteworld -http://www.kiteworldmag.com/features/sessions-cape-of-good-fun/ Please also watch Part 1 of my 3 part Cape Town video series below- Just over a week left in South Africa now then I am off to Morocco to prepare for our upcoming Coaching Holiday in Dakhla. Still have space so don't miss out on this amazing deal contact me by email today. All details on the trip here.

Last weekend 2nd - 3rd Nov, I traveled up to Porthcawl in Wales to run a kitesurf wave clinic organised by Blast Kiteboarding and local legend Marc Rowley. Despite being blown off the water saturday afternoon, we had some great conditions (especially on my dawnie at the point!) and everyone learnt lots. For a full write up & pics check out Marc's blog - http://blastkiteboarding.blogspot.co.uk/2013/11/lee-pasty-wave-clinic.html Pretty pleased with the feedback (see below) and Marc is already talking about another one in Wales in the spring. If you would like a Wave Clinic at you spot please get in touch. My next planned clinic is in Cape Town mid Jan 2014. Details TBC Or join me on a Pasty Adventures coaching holiday to Dakhla, Morocco in March. Freeride on the lagoon week 1, waves on the point week 2. Come for 1 week, 2 weeks or mix it up and have 1 week of coaching plus however many days you want on holiday in this kitesurf oasis. Details on the website http://www.pastyadventures.co.uk/dakhla.html Thanks to Marc & Sarah for organising the Wales Clinic. See you again soon ;) Lee Feedback
A fantastic weekend. I've been kitesurfing for 8 years. And waveriding for I reckon 6 years. The point is Lee has been doing it for twice as long and has been pushing the boundaries of waveriding in the UK since the start. To listen to Lee during the hurricane was pure gold dust. I learnt more in that 3 hours than in 3 years of getting yanked around at Llangennith. Got some bad old habits that require some attention, but I know what to work on now. Good to here that Lee will return and I'll look forward to that. Book early to avoid disappointment. Think it might be oversubscribed. Thanks to Lee, Marc and Sarah. -------------------------------------------------------- Awesome weekend with a great bunch. I've only been using a surf board for a few weeks and have learned so much. Theory was explained in simple terms and demonstrated by Lee so well, he made everything look so simple, if only it was. I realise now that using a surf board strapless or with, is something that will take time and perseverance so if you see me in the water rather than on it you know what I'm up to. I would definitely do another clinic with Lee and recommend it to anyone looking to improve their riding.. Also thanks to Blast for setting it up and for the beach commentary whilst Lee was doing his thing in the waves.. ------------------------------------------------------- Lee was great, he took us from the position of an absolute beginner at wave riding (me) through to the technical aspects of board shape and even fin selection - a side of wave riding I didn't even know existed! So sorry I couldn't attend both days, but just from yesterday I found lots of knowledge and inspiration to work on. Thanks To Blast for organising a great event. While I have had a couple of new 2014 kites to test for a few weeks today saw all my new North kites arrive in Cornwall. We are pleased to have a full quiver of Dice to use within the school and will have them available to demo at the BKSA Wavemasters in Tiree 16-21st september. For my thoughts on the differences between the Rebel & Dice check out my blog- http://www.leepasty.co.uk/1/post/2013/09/2014-north-dice-rebel-in-cornwall-test-with-video.html I made a vid using the GoPro 3 & chest mount at Godrevy on Saturday. Check it out. Looking good again for wind this weekend. Get in touch for kitesurfing lessons at Gwithian, Cornwall cheers Pasty
2nd Pasty, 1st Olly, 3rd Denzil
Lee 'Pasty' Harvey traveled to Exmouth last weekend 15th - 16th June for round 2 of the British Kiteracing championships. As usual another great event from Steph and the Edge crew. Lee came away with 5 2nds & 4 3rds from the 9 races completed with Olly Bridge winning all 9 to take his 2nd win of 2013 on the kiterace circuit. For Lee this now means a 1st(waves), 3rd & 2nd (racing) from the 3 UK Kitesurfing events so far this year, proving that when you have a kitesurfing lesson with Pasty Adventures, you really are being taught by one of the best riders in the country :) Check out the report online now http://www.edgewatersports.com/2013/news/edge-race-cup-report-2.htm BKSA Coach, Lee is running two kitesurfing clinics in Cornwall this weekend and the forecast is looking perfect. Pasty Cup 25th – 26th May 2013. British Kitesurf Racing Championships. Marazion, Cornwall Excitement is building with 2 weeks to go until the Pasty Cup sponsored by The National Marine Aquarium, The Seiners Arms & Philps pasties at Marazion, Cornwall over the bank holiday weekend 25-26 May. The Pasty Cup is the 1st of 4 events counting towards the 2013 British Kitesurf Racing Championships. Kitesurf Racing is the fastest form of sailing around an upwind/downwind course using big colourful kites over a mile long course set as close to the shore as conditions allow. Riders reach speeds up to 30mph, racing in winds ranging from 6-30 mph. In the event of wind in excess of 30mph the Kernow King of the Air event will run, where competitors are judged on jumping as high as possible with style. A spectacle not to be missed! Organiser Lee Harvey of Pasty Adventures kitesurfing school states: ‘I am pleased to announce the country’s top racers are confirmed such as, 3 times British Champion - Denzil Williams. 2012 Pasty Cup, British & youth World Champion – Olly Bridge along with his mum, women’s World No.1 & 4 x World Champ – Steph Bridge from Exmouth. Alongside the known racers with have some new names in the Race fleet and with entries also coming in for the Open Fleet we are expecting a great turn out for 2 days of fast and furious racing in what I strongly believe is the best kitesurfing location in Britain. The inclusion of Kernow King of the Air, means whatever the weather we will have competition running over both days with plenty for spectators to come and enjoy.’ Come along to Marazion and check out the Pasty Cup over the Bank Holiday weekend and you can even have a go at powerkite flying. All the details can be found on the website www.pastyadventures.co.uk/events If you are thinking of entering then download the entry form here and send back before 17th May to avoid the late fee. Our recent Intermediate Twin Tip kitesurfing clinic with BKSA Coach, Lee Harvey ran on sunday 14th april at Marazion in a chilly but sunny south easterly wind. Despite the wind playing games, meaning we had to change kites half way through, the 4 guys all learnt lots to push their kitesurfing level upwards over the coming months. Starting off with on land demos we looked at; riding toeside, jumps, pop, and backrolls. We then progressed onto on water demos on each segment before the guys took on the moves themselves. Below is a little video of the clinic. Next Intermediate clinic is planned for Sat 24th June. Details on the clinic page Feedback from the guys- 'The best thing about it for me was it gave me more confidence to just 'have a go' and try some new moves, rather than doing the same thing.' 'Didn't have any expectations as I've never had lessons or coaching before. It was good to see what it like, I thought it was good value and would do it agian.' 'I think it did what it was meant to for all of us and give more knowledge to help move our kiting on over the summer.' Footwork Demo Easter Sunday saw 4 kitesurfers come to Marazion for the Spring Wave Clinic with BKSA Coach Lee Pasty Harvey. Despite the severely cold ese wind and smallish waves, everyone had a great time riding strapless and learnt lots to be getting on with during the coming months. We started off with some wave theroy in the warmth of Jordans Cafe, before moving onto the water and looked at footwork, gybes, getting over waves and wave riding. The next clinic we have coming up is the Intro to Waves clinic at Gwithian or Marazion, weather depending. All the info on the clinic page. Next Wave clinic is tbc, please contact to register your interest. Thanks to Mel from Splashography for taking the pics, you can see more on his facebook page here "Hey Dude.
