Mauritius. Freeride and Wave Paradise 31st Aug 10th Sept 2012 - £1799
Mauritius, being a long time favourite for Windsurf coaching camps, Lee noticed the potential for a Kitesurf Wave coaching camp during his visit for the 2011 KSP World Tour.
The Lagoon at Le Mourne offers perfect flat water for perfecting your freeride skills and getting to grips with surf board skills, while the surrounding reef houses 3 perfect intermediate kitesurfing waves.
Manawa the wave furthest upwind is cross shore and breaks quite slowly making for a perfect place to take your first steps into kiting in the waves. The other side of the channel is Small reef where the wave breaks smaller and next down is Chameaux which breaks faster at the same size as Manawa but slightly cross off so for Advanced Wave kiters only. Further down the reef is One Eye which is a grinding barrel in real cross off wind. This is where the competition is held and only for Pro level kitesurfers.
The combination of flat warm water, constant wind and the different wave options make for the perfect place to increase your Kitesurfing level in the waves or in the flatwater of the lagoon.
Lee's Wave Coaching will be group dependant, using video anaylsis and demos as well as 1 on 1. The general plan will be- Riding inside the lagoon during the mornng, working on tecnique, such as carves, strapless jumps, transitions, surfboard tacks and gybes etc.
After lunch coaching will move out to the waves of Manawa or Small reef, where we will concentrate on; Set Up, Dropping in, Bottom/Top turns and pushing your level as far as possible, using boat support to give the best wave coaching possible.
Minimum required level for Lee's wave coaching- riding upwind, performing basic tricks and jumps on a TT and be able to ride and go upwind on a surfboard.
You must be confident amongst overhead sized waves with some sort of previous wave experience, (windsurf, surf, etc) although you need not necessarily have ridden waves with a kite as this is what we will focus 60% of our time on. You should also have your own kite surf board or rent form Skyriders.

(no fuel surcharges guarantee, 10 nights self catering accommodation at La Gaulette apartments, airport transfer in resort and daily drop off & pick ups to/from
Kitesurf centre at Le Morne.
(There is the option of paying for a local cook to make evening meals at the apartment, which is excellent quality and great value and what Lee recommends for at least some nights of the holiday)

2 Hours dedicated on water coaching each morning and afternoon followed by evening debriefs and theory.
