Kitesurfing at Marazion
From the 11th April 2014 Pasty Adventures will be open for Kitesurf lessons at Gwithian and Marazion. As West Cornwall's only British Kitesports recognised school we pride ourselves on giving the best quality instruction and have just taken delivery of brand new North Kiteboarding kites and boards as well as wetsuits from O'Neill to ensure all students have the best possible equipment to start their kitesurfing career. For those that can already Kite we are running a couple of Kitesurf Clinics, Saturday 19th April- Intro to Wave and Sunday 20th April is the Wave Clinic, price is just £60 per clinic all the details here. For any Intermediate Kitesurfers who would like coaching or a refresher before getting back in the water this spring we are able to make a package suitable to your needs or if you get a group of friends at similar abitities we can organise a great value Kitesurf Clinic. Forecast is perfect for kitesurfing lessons from this Sunday 28th July and for the early part of next week for Marazion. We currently have space for BKSA kitesurf lessons & courses. As usual another great event from Steph and the Edge crew. Lee came away with 5 2nds & 4 3rds from the 9 races completed with Olly Bridge winning all 9 to take his 2nd win of 2013 on the kiterace circuit. For Lee this now means a 1st(waves), 3rd & 2nd (racing) from the 3 UK Kitesurfing events so far this year, proving that when you have a kitesurfing lesson with Pasty Adventures, you really are being taught by one of the best riders in the country :) Check out the report online now http://www.edgewatersports.com/2013/news/edge-race-cup-report-2.htm BKSA Coach, Lee is running two kitesurfing clinics in Cornwall this weekend and the forecast is looking perfect. Saturday 22nd June sees a Intermediate Twin Tip clinic at Marazion where we will look at how to do some exciting moves such as backloops, frontrolls and kiteloops. Perfect to boost your kitesurfing level this summer. Sunday 23rd June we have an Intro to Waves clinic (probably at Gwithian) where we will get you up and kitesurfing on a surfboard, making turns and hacking your first waves. The forecast is looking great for The Pasty Cup, Kitesurf Racing British Championships round 1, on 25th - 26th May at Marazion, Cornwall.
Alongside this amazing kitesurfing event, we also now have space available for a learn to kitesurf course over the weekend with our instructor Blake. Kitesurfing lessons will most likely run at Gwithian due to nw winds forecast which will also make for high speed tactical racing in cross offshore winds at Marazion. Our recent Intermediate Twin Tip kitesurfing clinic with BKSA Coach, Lee Harvey ran on sunday 14th april at Marazion in a chilly but sunny south easterly wind. Despite the wind playing games, meaning we had to change kites half way through, the 4 guys all learnt lots to push their kitesurfing level upwards over the coming months. Starting off with on land demos we looked at; riding toeside, jumps, pop, and backrolls. We then progressed onto on water demos on each segment before the guys took on the moves themselves. With small waves and North to West winds, Gwithian has been amazing with all the beaches around St Ives bay offering up amazing kite conditions. In the southerly winds we have been having, Marazion has been perfect, although some waves last week have stirred up a bit of weed making for some line tangles and the students learning about the importance of staying away from weed and cleaning your lines after your kitesurf session. The beach have now been cleaned by Cornwall Council who use the weed to fertilize the farms around Penzance. With great winds forecast again all this week and the beaches pretty empty, there has been no better time to learn to kitesurf in Cornwall, so make the most of this summer and get in touch today to book in your extreme adventure with Pasty Adventures, West Cornwalls only British Kite Surfing Association recognised school.
